“Art show to hold New Year’s Eve reception

“The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. is displaying a new art show, called “Rejuvenation,” by local artist David Andrews. A reception will be held Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.

“Andrews, a Chicago native, calls his work a “fluid elegance turning 2D drawings into 3D pieces of sculpture on paper,” according to a LAVA Center press release. For more information, visit facebook.com/DrawingsByDavidAndrews.

“LAVA Center screening faux documentary

“The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. will host a screening and discussion of “The Light of the Burning Ship,” a satirical look at an alternate political history in the United States, on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m.

“Filmed in 2017, the faux documentary examines a Donald J. Trump political dynasty that spans for generations, and the initial failed attempts to halt that dynasty, according to a LAVA Center press release. Henry Mosher stars as narrator Brian Adams and Alex DeMelo plays failed revolutionary Nicholas Silva.
