Cathe Janke graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with an MFA in 2004 and has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and at Chester College. She traveled extensively in India and Burma participating in an art residency and studying the local art and culture. Deeply inspired by her travels, Cathe has been working with painting, printmaking, drawing, everyday materials, found objects, local/seasonal plants, salt, and food coloring. She has used milkweed with seed pods that float on air currents, and sparkles that attach to peoples’ feet and travel with them. She interned at Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA and had a solo show at Hope and Feather in Amherst, MA.
