Beautiful Disasters is a monthly storytelling open mic and potluck, every first Thursday at The LAVA Center. All stories are meant to be true, personal stories from your own life.
Aprils’ theme is FOOD, lets share disasters in the kitchen, at a campout, or a fancy party. Tell us about the time the caterer arrived at your wedding for 500 with canapés for 50, the chili cookout where your broken fingernail floated to the top of your chili entree while the judges were sampling, those cookies you and your brother made, accidentally switching the salt and sugar measurements, the inedible overcooked turkey at Aunt Sue’s Thanksgiving when you called out for Chinese food, or the time you returned an undercooked steak and the server threw the plate at you and quit. Bring us your burnt offerings, your sweet nothings, your vomit-inducing dishes, and the fond memories they have for you. An extra prize if you make anyone throw up.
Doors open and food is served at 6 p.m. Show will start at 7 p.m. Show is pay-what-you-want.
