Join LAVA for film screenings every 2nd Thursday! We’ll share films made by local filmmakers, films with a social or environmental focus brought to you by local organizations, films we just think you should see! There will be time after each screening for a talkback session. Check back as we add more films!
On May 8, Traprock Center for Peace & Justice will screen their new documentary, Our Projects, Our Visions 2025.
Just days before the presidential inauguration in January, 300 people filled the Second Congregational Church in Greenfield for a program called Our Projects for 2025, Envisioning the World we Want.
The program’s vibrant area speakers and musicians gave voice to the hopes and plans of area activists ready to confront the new administration.
Now a one-hour film of the main event will be shown at the LAVA Center, produced and organized by the Traprock Center for Peace & Justice and its Climate & Democracy project.
The film was made by new Traprock board member Liam O’Shea, filmmaker and social media editor living in Shelburne Falls.
During discussion afterwards, participants can share the reactions, concerns — and actions — that have developed during the first 100 days of the Trump presidency.
The film features the following speakers and musicians performing that afternoon, starting with the Twice as Smart Singers, directed by Gloria Matlock (pictured in photo):
Program Speakers:
- Susan Triolo, emcee, is a retired preschool/elementary teacher, long time peace & social justice activist and member of FCCPR & W. MA Code Pink Women for Peace.
