curator’s statement:
My first art showing was held at The LAVA Center (last summer’s Words on Words community art show). I thought it was exciting to have my submission be one of the pieces shown. Yet, the actual exhibit far exceeded my expectations. To see my work amongst other artists is a feeling I cannot begin to explain. I was acknowledged as a professional artist. The amount of support I received from conception to the completion during the reception. I was honored to have so many friends, colleagues, and community members celebrate with me.
On that day, I vowed I would help others artists to experience the exhilaration of seeing their work hung in a gallery. I hope this will help them move forward. Creating more art. Perfecting their craft and turning their dreams into reality. —Kemah
