Silent Art Auction Continues at The LAVA Center

The exhibit will continue through December 20 with interim closings 10/4, 11/1, 12/6. New art added each month. Bids starting at $25, plus several pieces at “pay whatever you want, including nothing” pricing thanks to the generosity of the featured artist!
Rothschild is well-known for his clever, often whimsical assemblages. By repurposing metal scrap, rusty tools and other materials, he turns trash into treasures. “I first dipped my toes into the Found Objects Art waters sometime towards the end of 2006,” he explains. “My friend, Matthew Leighton, had recently passed away. I had admired, enjoyed, and smiled at his ‘Assemblages’ since he began creating them. I have tried as best as I am able to create pieces in the manner of the ‘Matthew Leighton School of Assemblages.’”
He estimates he has created 1,000 pieces since then, of which 900 are in other people’s possession. Some of his work is on display at Art Deviation Gallery, whose owner JJ White states, “Art Deviation Gallery is proud to support the Silent Art Auction to benefit LAVA and the community they serve.”
The Silent Art Auction is part of a series of events to benefit LAVA as the organization looks forward to its seventh year of operation providing art, film, playreading, writing, spoken word, storytelling, standup comedy and community conversations for little to no cost to the public.
