Greening Greenfield to screen ‘Eating for Tomorrow’
GREENFIELD — To educate viewers about how humans impact the planet and the significance of food choices, Greening Greenfield will present a screening of “Eating for Tomorrow” at The LAVA Center, 324 Main St., on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited, so attendees are advised to come early. Discussion will follow.
LAVA Center launching monthly story circles
GREENFIELD — Starting Feb. 14, The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. is launching a new monthly conversation circle sharing stories. The story circles will take place every second Friday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m.
Some months may begin with a theme or prompt, such as “How I Came to Greenfield,” and others may be simply “What Would You Like to Share?” February’s theme is “Forever Friends.”
Attendees will begin with the model of using a talking stone or stick or other object. The person speaking holds the object for as long as they want to speak, then passes it on. Others do not interrupt or ask questions, but simply listen. At the end of the hour, there’s a debrief where each person offers a closing thought. The structure may be adjusted over time depending on the interests of the participants.
