Sounds Local: Music at Greenfield’s Winter Carnival

You are here: Home / Press / Sounds Local: Music at Greenfield’s Winter Carnival

January 30, 2020 //  by LAVA

“The Local Access to Valley Arts (LAVA) Center, a new arts and incubation center in Greenfield is opening this weekend, and while not a part of Winter Carnival, the venue has a full schedule of events that will coincide with those of the carnival. The LAVA Center, which has a goal of providing space in the downtown area that will create opportunities primarily in the performing and literary arts, is at 324 Main St. between TD Bank and the Pushkin Gallery. The LAVA Center will host a wide variety of arts events, classes and workshops.

“According to Vanessa Query, one of the center’s co-coordinators, live music will be a part of the LAVA Center, but it will not be a traditional venue where bands are brought in.

“Music is on the schedule for their grand opening weekend. The Farley String Band will be on hand for the venue’s open house, which is at Friday at 4:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday at 2 p.m., there will be a performance of Artspace’s Strings for Kids programs and on Sunday at 5 p.m., the space will host a live Irish session. For more information, visit the LAVA Center’s Facebook page.”
